What is one piece of advice you’d give developers ahead of publishing their game? We asked this question to the Midwest Games team and got some insightful responses. We’d love to hear from you too! What’s one lesson you’ve learned, either from your own experience or from watching other developers, that could help someone preparing for launch?

  • Why game publishing needs to change... Only 2% of games are published by a publisher yet those games make the vast majority of revenue? This needs to change.  The industry needs to change. We need to come up with new models that support developers in better ways - that’s why we introduced a shadow publishing initiative. As Ben asked at the end of this video, are you going to be part of the change?

A final plug for my talk tomorrow...even if you think you already know the answer to the main question, I'd offer that there is a lot more to it than that. Maybe you have questions about the value a publisher might bring to the table at all? How might a publisher help you both in very tangible, tactical ways as well as strategic and intangible ways? How can you maximize your chances to succeed in the current marketplace by leveraging a publishing partner? And if you're having trouble getting publisher traction, what are your options to navigate the challenges involved? I'll tackle as much of this as I can in the given time - I hope you can join me! 👉 Sign up link (or scan the QR code in the image): https://lnkd.in/gpyc33eT

As Midwest Games' CEO Ben Kvalo said, we are here to help developers with that, reach out to us today!
